1808. George Shattock was baptised to Francis Shattock & Mary Hawkins 20/11/1808 in B.L. - B.L. bmds 1674-1850 online, just google

The Shattock family came from Bishops Lydeard, a few k W of Taunton . Francis Shattock 1778-1853 was a shoemaker, as was George Shattock 1807-1888 . Sometime before 1871 George seemed to pass the business over to his son, Walter, and in 1871C he is just given as sexton: he had held this position from~1853. By 1881C he was also acting as the village postman. His son, Christopher, joined the police force and was stationed far away in Glamorgan, then seemed to be posted on every couple of years, living in Llanelly, Resolven, Aberdare, Swansea
