My maternal grandfather (Owen Trevor Mitchell) was born to Amelia Kirk Pettigrew and Cyril John Mitchell in Bhusawal India. 

Amelia and Cyril were married in the Chapel of Fort St George in Madras and other children included: Brian Desmond Mitchell, Russel, Prudence, June Valerie, Daphne Lorna, Lynette Heather 

There’s some mention of Amelia being descended from a James Pettigrew born in Scotland 1771 and died 1804. 

On my father’s side, his mother (Sophia King) was born to Jean McMahon (mother) and William King who married in Dunoon, Scotland. I think William was a master cobbler and died around 1959 from lung cancer. 

His father’s (John McKirdy Thomson) parent’s Mary McKirdy and William Thomson were married in Glasgow and I think William was a master butcher.
