Ann Horton 1780-1850
1780. An Ann Horton is baptised to John Horton & Betty on 10/1/1780 in Dauntsey Wiltshire. Dauntsey is ~5 m. W of Purton, where she marries in 1806. A probability that this is she , although ~10 miles from Cricklade, but query now over Cricklade anyway!!
also in 1789 an Ann Horton baptised to William & Ann in Wroughton, Wiltshire . If this is our Ann, she would only have been ~ 16 on marriage. Wroughton, 4 m S of Swindon, is about the same distance as Dauntsey from Purton, but not near Cricklade ,
1806 . Ann Horton, of Cricklade, marries Richard Dore, yeoman, in Purton Wiltshire on 13/5/1806 - FMP & IGI. A Wm Horton, yeoman, of Cricklade, was a bondsman . But on Wiltshire marriages Ancestry it states by licence & Ann was of Purton, not Cricklade!!
1811. Ann Dore is baptised to Richard Dore and Ann in Purton, Wiltshire, on 7/7/1811. Lydiard and Swindon are very near to Purton.
Other children were: Mary 1806, Elizabeth 1808, Robert 1812, Martha Jones 1813, Sarah Margaret 1814 and Richard 1819. - IGI. /. A Henry 1822 too.
1839. A Richard Dore is buried 30/3/1839 Purton, no age given, but ' 3 husband to Ann' - was doubtful this was he, as he would still seem to be alive when his wife dies in 1850: she described as 'wife of'' & not 'widow of''!. What does the 3 mean? . But he certainly seems dead by 1841C This from FMP??
1841C. Ann Dore, 55, yeomanist? , is living Purton with children Elizabeth 25, Sarah 20, Richard 20 & Henry 15. Also a Lawrence Dore 55- he maybe in a separate house
