Kingsand & Cawsand are twin villages in SE Cornwall . The border between Devon and Cornwall was between the twin villages of Kingsand and Cawsand.  This probably changed somewhere in the middle of the 19th Century.

There was a pub called the Halfway House on the old border,  and our friends house was called Boundary House opposite the pub.

So all births in Kingsand would have been listed as Devon for a period of time. -Kevin
