Benjamin Homer 1817- 1867
Parents seemingly Thomas & Matilda Homer
I too have been unable to find an 1851 Census entry! However I have found out that he married Hannah Brownhill in 1846. His name is spelt wrongly in the BMD search – Benjamin Barnett Hornes. The surname Brownhill comes from Louisa’s birth certificate. And if you look up the Parish Registers for St Thomas’s Dudley you can see that BBH was baptised in 1817, parents Thomas and Matilda. I don’t think they were married in St Thomas’s however so no progress on M’s maiden name.- Tim O'Mara May 2017

1841C. Benjamin Homer, 23, painter is living "From Cross Guns to Dogsbody Lane, Dudley". His daughter, Sarah Louisa Homer's 1868 m.c. has his profession as 'painter'. Thomas is a glass cutter, William a moulder.

1849 .Sarah Louisa Homer was born Dudley Jun 1849. Parents Benjamin Homer & Hannah Brownhill
1851C. Just cannot find him nor daughter Sarah Louisa - searched ad infinitum for mistranscriptions , both Ancestry & FMP
4 deaths for Hannah Homer 1850-1867, though likely she was alive until ~1857 at least : maybe Stourbridge Dec 1856 , but think this a babe buried Cradley- Hunnington ~10 k E of Stourbridge but not its Registration didtrict- & is further S of Dudley. Thus Stourbridge Mar 1861 the most likely death for Hannah.
