1875. Caroline Heany died on 28/2/1875 : her husband was tried for her manslaughter. He was found guilty of maltreating her, and received 4 months in prison, his pension being suspended during this time . Long articles in the local press on her suffering. Even his daughter gave witness in court. Neighbours said Mrs Heaney was very frightend, like a skeleton, and repeatedly said her husband wanted to kill her with a knife: she was suffering from an internal tumour
