Christopher & Louisa had probably 10 children, one dying as a babe: Hester M 1900, Horace C Jun Neath 1902, Stanley James Dec Neath 1903, Mabel Louise Sep Neath 1906, Lionel 1908-1908, Doris Irene 1910, Thomas R 1912, Edwin Douglas 1914 & Ernest Frank 1917 - these last 2 registered Newport Mon, - this includes Bedwas, and finally, Florence Muriel 1920
1. Hester Maria Shattock 1900-1993
2. Horace Christopher Shattock in Glynn Neath Neath 29/4/1902 - 1988 Cirencester Nov. He had two children, June Shattock and Nora Shattock. Nora died in her 20s or 30s and June helped to bring up her children. June married Sidney Butcher and they had sons, Nicholas, Stephen (not sure if there is a 3rd son). Horace, June & Sid lived in the Cirencester area, and at one time lived in Tetbury, Glos. June and Sid Butcher were living in Australia when her sister, Nora, died and came back to live in UK to look after her children. Horace Shattock died in Cirencester and worked with horses all his life. Didnot find in 1939 Register
3. Stanley James Shattock was born in Glynn Neath Neath 24/10/1903- Merthyr Tydfil Dec 1981 . Stanley J Shattock married Alice Williams Cardiff Mar 1929. They likely had Christopher J Shattock b.15/6/1931 at 46, School Street, Llanbradach, Mid Glamorgan - Pontypridd Sep 1931: this son married Edith ?? and they had three children : Jayne Alison Shattock born 29/03/1956 at Caerphilly Miners’ Hospital, Caerphilly, and twins born 23/09/1957 Christopher Stephen Shattock and Ann Marie Shattock born at St. David’s Hospital, Cardiff. . Stanley had a gents’ barber’s shop in Bedwas and lived on the premises. . They had his father, Christopher John Shattock 1876, living with them at one time

4. Mabel Louise Shattock in Glynn Neath on 9/6/1906 Sep Neath 1906. Married William Price Newport M Dec 1925. They had William D Price Newport M Sep 1927 & Christine Price Caerleon Mar 1940 . She died Caerleon Sep 1969 - I believe of cancer. She was married to a Desmond Price and lived in Trethomas/Bedwas/Machen area. She had lots to do with the local church where she sang in a choir, played the church organ, and travelled to Germany with the choir. Karen sent me a photo of her but it has come out as a funny negative

6. Doris Irene Shattock in Gilfach Bargoed 1910,Merthyr Tydfil Mar .She was known as Doll. Married Dudley Knight Newport M Jun 1931. They had Ethel J Knight Luton Jun 1932 & Robin D Knight Luton Mar 1944 .Doris Knight died 17/2/2009 and would have been celebrating her 100th birthday on 17th December, 2009, so missed out on celebrating 100 years of age by months. As of 2015- Ethel J Knight (known as Joyce )- married Coleman in 1953 Luton- is still alive, and living in Luton, her husband is dead and she has two sons David 1967 and Martin. Robin also still living in Luton and I think has four children. Photo below Did not find in 1939 Register
7. Thomas Reginald Shattock 6/5/1912 Merthyr Tydfil - 13/6/1990 Merthyr Tydfil Jun. He apparently lived in Navigation Street in Trethomas prior to his death, He was a carpenter by trade and probably worked in local colliery. He married Margaret M Hughes, known asVano ( likely short for Myfannwy ) Caerleon Dec 1936 and they had two children Eira N. 1939 -Nina (not sure if this is a nickname) and Richard Paul 1946. Karen remembers going to his 60th birthday celebration in 2006, I think his birthday was 16th January. Paul married Julie Edwards in 1967 and they had two children Leigh (male) 1970 and Nicola. Leigh married a girl called Helen (who was brought up in Canada but mother in 2003ish was living in Cardiff in UK) and they had two children, Ben and later a daughter Annabelle but daughter born after 2003. Helen trained as a herbalist whilst living in Caerphilly and opened a herb shop sometime around 2000. Nicola married Howell Williams and they have two children, no further details on that. Mum says Nina married a Mr. Lewis maybe John (which is probably guess work) and they had three daughters Jane Melanie and Phillippa. Cannot find a marriage for Eira- Nina. Thomas R Shattock is buried in Saint Barrwg Cemetery Bedwas .

8. Edwin Douglas Shattock 15/7/1914 Newport - 1999 Caerphilly Mar . Douglas Shattock lived opposite Muriel in Lewis Street. Douglas Shattock married Violet Webb E.Glamorgan Mar 1942 and they had two children: Doreen M 1945 & Susan M 1952 . They lived as a family in Lewis Street opposite Muriel Smillie in 1960’s and probably earlier. Doug was a miner in local colliery. Did not find in 1939 Register
9. Ernest Frank Shattock 29/9/1917 Newport - 2001 Newport M Frank Shattock married Doris Buckley E. Glamorgan Mar 1942 and they had one child Jeanette E. Glamorgan Sep 1948. He likely lived in Caerphilly. Did not find in 1939 Register
10. Muriel Shattock 1920-2004. . Florence M Shattock was born 25/7/1920 Newport M Sep 1920. mother recorded as Hicks . Florence M Shattock married James Smillie, a Scot, East Glamorgan Dec 1942 and had a son called John J Smillie Cardiff Sep 1947.. In the 1960s Karen would visit Lewis Street with Esther and there Muriel had Grandad (CJS) living with her and he also lived with Esther’s brother Stanley Shattock in Bedwas, Nr. Caerphilly at some time. . Florence M Smillie, 83, died Caerphilly Mid Glamorgan Feb 2004 - maybe Bedwas?? Living wih her parents, as Florence, 20, unpaid domestic duties, in 1939 Register

Shattock & Co shop in Bedwas ~ 1925, next door to Chandel & then Jenkins . Thelma has no recollection of anyone in the family owning a shop Shattock & Co, only that Stanley James Shattock was a men’s barber who had a shop in Bedwas,
