Elizabeth Inniss 1815-1901
variations Innis /Inniss/Annis/Hanniss?
Elizabeth Hanniss was born 1815 & baptised St. Nicholas Gloucester 1/2/1815. Father Solomon Annis. Mother Ann Long. Siblings: Ann Annis, baptised 10/2/1807, George Hanniss baptised 17/10/1810 & Jane Hanniss baptised 10/2/1813-actual image viewable, Solomon a servant, all 3 siblings in St. Mary de Lode Gloucester- Ancestry Gloucestershire baptisms , but not Ann [just from Gill]. Not on FS, IGI, of FMP
1841C. The family shown below of Innis in Ross, Herefordshire, might just be hers, with Solomon's age incorrect. James Innis, 35, publican, would then be her brother, and thus Solomon Innis would be nearer 60 & would be her father. . He, James 35 & Elizabeth 25 female servant, are all born outside the county. But it is probably not, as 9mth old twins listed below her, with the likelihood that they are hers [their births are registered in Ross under the name of Hanniss, Sep 1840 Herbert & Hilerey]. Herbert Innis dies 1842 Ross, but cannot find a death for any variation of his twin.

1841Census entry, Ross, Herefordshire.
Seemingly irrelevant but in 1851C, there is a William Innis 48, horsekeeper, b.Worcestershire, wife Sarah 49, b.Ross with children 7-21 b. Glocs
Possibly a servant, Elizabeth Annis, down as aged 18, in Gloucester. But age somewhat wrong! and there is a baptism of an Elizabeth Annis in 1823! Cannot find her father Solomon- have trawled all Solomons of the near age!!. Her brother William 1817- how do I know she has a brother William?? - is probably a servant in Kempsford - census so faint that age indeterminate

1845 . Elizabeth Inniss married John Gosling in 1845 in Slimbridge, which is where his married brother William Gosling is living with his wife Caroline and 3 children, 1-5. .

Her life from 1845 is shown on John Gosling page
1851C Elizabeth Gosling, 35, in Gloucester, with her husband & first 2 children and a Solomon Inniss 73, pauper,b.Burford, is living with her family.

Solomon Annis died 10/5/1860, aged 82 , formerly a Postillian?, in Union Workhouse Gloucester . This would suggest birth ~1778. But only 3 Solomon Annis on Family Search; one b. 1799, Alderton,Glocs, to Solomon & Mary Annis , another b. 1795 Gt Witcombe to William & Ann & another b.1771 to Solomon & Elizabeth. The former would have been born to Solomon 1745, elder brother of James Annis 1752. He died of Gangrene Senalis, informant seemingly a worker in the Workhouse . Shropshire Archives claim to have Burford baptisms 1558- 2001

Did not find Elizabeth's possible brother, James Inniss- the one living in Ross in 1841C - in 1861C!!, but very dubious anyway that he was a brother!
1901. Elizabeth Gosling/Inniss died of Senile Decay, 40 Albany Street, Gloucester 13/4/1901, aged 86 years, wife of John Gosling a sawyer. Informant was W.Gosling, son, of 54 New Street, Gloucester. This was William, the only one of her sons to remain in Gloucester.
