Annie with her husband Thomas Gerrard [Artillery] and their 4 boys, probably taken late 1916.

Seemingly no Army Service record for Thomas H Gerrard - there are 2 Medal cards, one in the Royal Garrison Artillery.

1919. Still living at 144 Broadway. Her father James Gosling arrives back from Canada in March and spends his last 3 years living with her. 144 Broadway being almost where one of James' shops had been prior to 1912. Anne suspects her father Harold Gosling might have paid Annie to take care of him, as Annie was notoriously mean.

1925. A Thomas H. Gerrard died Jun 1925 Cardiff, aged 45. This almost certainly her husband.   Children known of by Anne's family were Les and Alfred Gerrard [ and Kenneth??], but, as stated above, there were 4 sons 1908-1914.   Also rememmbered that she was a card player- this apparently passed down to her sons-from Liz.

1929. August 15. Her address is given as the last address for her 8 yr old nephew, Edgar Taylor Hopkins, born 1920, [ son of Louisa Gosling/Hopkins 1899] on the ship the Montclare from Southampton to Quebec, on his way back to his parents, Frank & Louisa Hopkins in Dolbeau, Quebec. Fos some unknown reason she had looked after him from the age of 5 and was cruel to him, locking him up in the cupboard under the stairs.

Did she subsequently move to 141 Broadway?? "broad way -aunty annes gerrards house number 144 which is next door but one to james shops he had in broad way .the gerrards family later had this onenumber 141 broad way.james main shop was at 139 broadway just across the road.THEN BERTRUM ST number 13 and 39. number 39 is the house harold and walter both were born in also edgar and louise FOLLOWED BY  PEARL ST. number 105 which was james first shop .this was a corner shop (corner of pearl st and bertrum st). and to diamond st (the road is still there but no houses left}"

1933. She remarried Samuel A Jacobsen Jun 1933 Cardiff.

One husband was referred to as ‘Dolf, almost certainly Samuel, as Anne remembers an Uncle Dolf.’.

1939 Register. Annie M Jacobsen, married-mistranscription - , is living 144, Broadway . Son Leslie Gerrard, 1908, labourer, is living next door with wife Arabella

~1940. She was still living at 144 Broadway and it was there she looked after brother Albert who suffered from cancer in his last years of life, dying in 1945. Harold paid her for this.

1948. Annie M Jacobsen died Jun 1948 Cardiff, aged 65.
