Her husband Paul is a descendant of Thomas and Ellen Gresham through their first child Dorothy Isabel who married Thomas McFarlane. She was a sister to Hugh Gresham who Catherine is descended from. Paul's dad was Hector William Gresham McFarlane Son of Dorothy( née Gresham) and Thomas McFarlane. We live in Rotorua NZ.

Thomas and his father were in practice together till 1876 when Thomas went bankrupt and was cut out of the practice. We don’t know what happened exactly but it was then he and his wife and daughter emigrated to NZ and set up practice in Te Awamutu.

12/3/1913. A formal complaint was made against the Coroner for not holding an Inquest within 24 hours of a death- he was playing Bowls and told the grieving relatives if they did not like it they knew what they could do!
1913 ." Thomas Gresham shunted by the Judiciary".. The Government sidelined him from holding any further inquests. He was condemned by the Truth newspaper for receiving a guinea for each inquest, ~ 4 inquests per week . He had strong Liberal sympathies and no time at all for "Reform".
