1853. John Owen was born, about February 1853, from the 1921 census, to parents Robert Owen & Mary Jones in Llanllechid . Birth Bangor Jun 185 Llanllechid a village 2 k N of Bethseda, 1k NE of Tregarth which is on the A5. Also LLANLLECHID, a parish in the hundred of Uchaf, county Carnarvon, 4 miles S.E. of Bangor, its post town, and 10 N.E. of Carnarvon. It is situated on the river Ogwen, and includes seven hamlets, the principal being Bethesda and Tal-y-bont. The mountains Carnedd Llewellyn and Carnedd Davydd are nearly 3,500 feet in height. This is considered one of the largest parishes in the principality. There are several extensive slate quarries.
15/9/2015 contacted a Pamela on Genes Reunited who has John Owen 1854 Beaufort, Wales on her tree, along with Mabel Hancox, Thomas Hancox, back to William Sparrow 1751 - but she does not have John Rigg Owen 1904, nor Robert 1893, nor Herbert 1899 . Odd that Beaufort is in S Wales, not Caernarvonshire!! No reply! But seems a load of rubbish anyway!!

1904. John Rigg Owen was born 14/3/1904 Caernavon to John & Mabel - their last child.
1904-1911. He moved the family to Portroe, Tipperary, where he was the manager for the Killaloe Plate Co Ltd
.
As the site used to be a working quarry, there are still items that have remained here since its working days. There is an old mining shaft along with an old iron ladder. The remains of a crane are visible about 27 metres down.
1911C. John Owen, 55, Quarry Manager, is living Portroe Town, Castletown, Tipperary with his wife, Mabel 47, and 4 surviving youngest children. Ada 1901 appears to have died. Census states 8 children, 1 dead . Portroe is near Lough Derg, N of Killaloe, ~45 k NE of Limerick

1938. A John Owen, 86, dies Bridgend Jun 1938 - here age is ~2 years too old, but not if born in 1852, which 1891C suggests. Think this more likely- Pat would still have been well under 5 . No probate for him around either of these 2 dates
