On arrival at the Reserve, we saw the above fossa : a rare cat-like, carnivorous mammal endemic to Madagascar. The fossa is listed as a vulnerable species |

The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) considers lemurs to be the world's most endangered mammals, noting that as of 2013 up to 90% of all lemur species face extinction within the next 20 to 25 years.

Whilst lunching at the Reserve we saw this lizard reburying her eggs at a greater depth - she had spotted a snake sniffing them! |
